This logo confirms that the following minimum requirements of an HD ready TV have been met in accordance with European industry association EICTA:
  • Horizontal resolution of 720 lines in a 16:9 format
  • Analogue HD component video input or DVI-D/I or HDMI
  • Copy-proof digital video inputs that can work with 50/60 Hertz images with 720p and 1080i.
HD Ready 1080p

HD ready 1080p

Also known as Full HD, this logo indicates that the television delivers the highest possible HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
  • 1080 physical lines
  • Must accept 1080p 24 and 1080p 50 sources
Digital Tick

digital Tick

HD ready TVs are digital televisions. A digital tick logo confirms that your HD ready TV will work when the analogue signal is switched over in the UK to digital between now and 2012.
Freeview

Freeview

The Freeview logo indicates that the product can receive digital services from the Freeview platform and provides extra channels with no subscription cost.
Freeview +

Freeview+

Freeview+ shows your HD ready TV can receive the same digital services as 'Freeview' and can also record programmes without the need of tapes or DVDs. Set-top boxes that carry the Freeview+ logo must be able to:
  • Show an 8 Day electronic programme guide
  • Series recording (one timer to record whole series)
  • Record split programmes as one programme
  • Record related programmes
  • Record alternative showing if there is a time conflict
  • Schedule changes updated in standby (e.g. scheduled recording starting early)
